An outstanding album I've quickly developed an addiction to. Clever & compelling lyrics, melodies that get right under the skin, bits that will make you laugh and parts that could make you cry if you were capable of crying. It's a varied thali of sounds as well, from dizzy waltzes to a kind of back street Brill building feel to a few songs that conjure Songs For Sale era Vic Godard. So good. Absolutely LOVE this album. It's SO great to hear these legends energized and busting out killer track after killer track. Three albums in less than a year is a herculean feat, and that each one is brilliant, building on the energy of the one before, well... it's all worth shouting about. Dig this so much, I bought all 3 and donated them to my radio station, KDUR, so we all get to hear them over the air in Colorado. Chuffed to get to play them for others.
